The centrally located AnguriBagh, a large charbagh-style garden with four intricate sections, is part of the grounds of the KhasMahal in the Agra Fort. Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor, in 1637 as an illustrious retreat. This place is a must-see when visiting Agra Fort for an interesting look at Mughal history.

The garden was properly given the name the Garden of Grapes (AnguriBagh) because it was once well-known for its dense grape creepers, their cultivation, and harvesting. Fine white marble makes up the surrounding construction, which was originally painted in gold, gilded, and embellished with exquisitely lovely paintings. The main section consists of a hall with a recess and rooms arranged in a semicircular arrangement around it, as well as a large front courtyard with tanks, fountains and hammams that looks out over the magnificent AnguriBaghlandscape.

The entrance charge at AnguriBagh is 20 INR for visitors from India. While the cost of the ticket at anguribagh is 500 INR for visitors from outside India. Please Note: If you purchase your TajMahal ticket on the same day, you will receive a 50 INR discount.

Best time to visit

 

The greatest time to visit AnguriBagh is in the winter since the cool weather will make your excursion intriguing. So the ideal time to travel Agra is from October to March.

Architecture

The garden is surrounded by the KhasMahal on its eastern side and the red sandstone arcades on its other three sides. Additionally, with absolute solitude in mind, hammams (bath houses) were constructed for them in the northeastern corner of the yard. This charming tourist destination in Agra now houses over 85 symmetrical gardens. The exotic beauty of the setting is enhanced by the fountain that has been positioned in the middle. A key feature of the landscape is a reflecting pool with scalloped borders.

The garden is conveniently located within the KhasMahal complex, just 3 km from the TajMahal complex, and is easily accessible by local electric/ battery-operated rickshaws, local rickshaws, or even tongas. You can also hire auto-rickshaws to get to the park, or book taxi cabs from anywhere in the city. The city is also well connected by state-run buses, which you can take. Recently, the management has also introduced the option of renting bicycles.
